Although this great rain photo wasn't from last night it was still a good time! We embrace the rain and have a lot of tun with it Last night we went to Lion King. The word miraculous does not even begin to describe how splendid it was. The characters were superb, the costumes were mind-blowing the scenery on the stage made me feel like I was in a graphic 3D movie and the singing of Rafiki and all the others was just more than I could have ever dreamt. It was better than having a castle in the sky.
On the way to the show we decided to have a little party on the tube. Everyone is always so stifled on there! They needed to loosen up and live a little! My group had no problem showing London how to have a great time while on the tube. We danced, sang and shared Andrews great hat.
The wind comes through the cracked windows of the tube so hard. It is impossible to have decent looking hair in this city!
Working that hat the best I knew how. Good thing Gavin is a professional model and always ready and willing to give me a few pointers!
It is so much fun to be able to laugh as much as we do! I laugh so hard all the time. I think I spend more time throughout the day laughing then I actually spend talking. What a great life!
It looks like we are in an eternal pit of black darkness but we are actually at the beautiful opera house waiting anxiously for Nala and Simba to come entertain us!
We had THE BEST SEATS EVER!!!!!!!! Okay, ya, we didn't actually have the BEST, but close we were lucky enough to use binoculars to see some of the really detailed cool stuff, pretty sure we saw more up and personal than the actors themselves. Binoculars made the show that much more fun! Kelsey and I literally sang and danced a long to every single song. Ah, it was just so fantastic, such a perfect show! Love, love, loved it. Every person should have the opportunity to see Lion King the musical with such a great performers! It is hard to imagine but as amazing as that was ...
The real fun began AFTER the show!
Even just walking to the tube station we met the crazies, zealous people. We met a "life coach" who told me to praise Aphrodite, he told me a lot of other things and was a bit to creepy for me to even pretend and be nice too. His friend fancied Kelsey a bit to much for my liking as well. He literally picked her up and started carrying her away from me! Who does that? They were super creepy and I left promptly after he proceeded to kiss my hand repetitively. Asking for directions from a stranger turned into yet another adventurous conversation about NYC and plumbing and capturing everything in between.
Kelsey and I have been wanting to go gambling (don't judge people) for a couple of weeks now! We decided to give our selves a five pound limit. We were planning on losing all of it anyways and said that is how much we would pay to go to a club, so we felt good about our justification. Walking to the casino from the tube station was an adventure in its self. People are nuts and have no clue what personal space or inappropriate behavior/conversation towards a stranger is. Got to love them though. They are the people that make this life so interesting and entertaining for the rest of us.
We met some boys gambling. They were seriously so nice. We were playing with 1 pound and they were playing with well over seven thousand. I won my four pounds and was literally screaming and jumping up and down for five minutes. Our friend one about 4 thousand pounds and he smiled and that was it. They didn't drink or smoke because of religious reasons so they offered to buy us some ice cream in celebration of our winnings. How adorable. They were so fun. Our night was amazing. I wish everyone would have been able to come party with us! Wow, seriously my life is so blessed.
Today Kelsey and I spent the day laying out, doing homework and walking around the beautiful grounds of Hyde Park right here in South Kensington.
There wasn't a cloud in the sky or a kid with out a smile. I have never seen so many happy people in once place. Everyone looked like they were having the time of their lives, such a refreshing sight to see after days of cold rain.
They have a little place where you can rent row boats. That was our original option until we saw the fancy price tag attached to the hour long ride. Deciding that we couldn't get the cheaper rate by passing for 15 year olds was pretty sad, neither of us could justify spending 9 pounds to sit like sitting ducks for an hour.
